Exposed nerve cannot be cured by itself, it needs to be treated by direct pulp capping, live pulp cutting and root canal treatment to eliminate the lesion, as follows.
1. Direct pulp capping: For young permanent teeth with exposed pulp due to mechanical or traumatic injury or permanent teeth with perforation holes not exceeding 0.5mm, direct pulp capping agents such as MTA, calcium hydroxide, etc. can be used to cover the pulp trauma to eliminate inflammation and protect the pulp vitality.
2. Live pulp amputation: When the pulp is exposed by deep caries removal of decay in milk teeth or young permanent teeth and when the pulp is exposed in young permanent teeth due to trauma and the perforation hole is large, the inflamed pulp tissue is cut off to preserve the vitality of the pulp.
3. Root canal therapy: If the pulp already has an inflammatory reaction, root canal therapy should be performed to completely remove the infected pulp and terminate the further development of the disease.
