Positive for Mycoplasma urealyticum

A positive test for Mycoplasma urealyticum indicates that the patient is infected with Mycoplasma urealyticum, mainly due to unclean sexual intercourse. Mycoplasma urealyticum belongs to the genus Ureaplasma in the family Mycoplasma, and can cause non-gonococcal urethritis, prostatitis, and epididymitis in men, as well as vaginitis, cervicitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, amnionitis, and low birth weight babies in women. Patients with hypogammaglobulin may cause septic arthritis, and Mycoplasma solani can also cause infertility, due to the adsorption of Mycoplasma solani to sperm and impede their movement, or the production of neuraminidase-like substances that interfere with sperm-egg binding. In pregnant women, the presence of Mycoplasma may cause fertilization of the egg in early pregnancy, infection of the fetus through the placenta leading to termination of pregnancy, hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, excessive amniotic fluid, preterm labor, premature rupture of membranes, and stillbirth in late pregnancy, and respiratory infections in the newborn during delivery. For the treatment of Mycoplasma solani infection, it is recommended to do mycoplasma culture and drug sensitivity test after 2 weeks of drug discontinuation, and choose sensitive drugs according to the test results, generally choose such as doxycycline hydrochloride, minocycline hydrochloride, erythromycin enteric-coated tablets, roxithromycin, azithromycin, etc. When it cannot be completely cured, quinolone antibiotics, such as levofloxacin or cetafloxacin, can also be used. In daily life, sexual life should be avoided during treatment. It is recommended that couples be treated at the same time, and that clothing be washed and disinfected in a timely manner to prevent reoccurrence of infection.
