In recent years, with the development of China’s economy and the improvement of people’s life, the number of people with diabetes in China has increased rapidly. At present, there are 40 million people with diabetes in China. The number of people suffering from diabetes is the second highest in the world, and diabetes has become the “number three killer” in China after cancer and cardiovascular diseases. Diabetes is caused by problems with the function of the pancreatic islets. In the past, it was believed that once the function of the pancreas is damaged, it is difficult to recover, so diabetes is a lifelong disease. Recent studies have found that early intensive treatment with an insulin pump has the potential to restore the function of the islets. Except for severe obesity, hyperinsulinemia and severe insulin resistance, which need to be solved by comprehensive measures, once diagnosed, patients with fasting blood glucose over 7 mmol/L or 2 hours postprandial blood glucose over 11 mmol/L can be treated with intensive insulin therapy as soon as possible, supplemented by diet and exercise therapy, which can protect the function of pancreatic islets to the greatest extent, so that the damaged pancreatic β cells can rest and be repaired to different degrees. This can maximize the protection of pancreatic islet function, so that the damaged pancreatic beta cells can rest and be repaired to different degrees, making it possible for diabetic patients not to take medication for life. Insulin pump treatment cost: 120 yuan per day, half a month of treatment. The price of buying insulin pump: domestic insulin pump is about 20,000 yuan, and imported insulin pump is 40,000-60,000 yuan.
