If the pelvis is high on one side and low on the other, some patients are able to have it reset. There are many possible causes of bilateral pelvic inequality, such as scoliosis, unequal length of the lower limbs, congenital hip dislocation and a series of other factors. If the condition is detected early and the degree of deformity is mild, reset or orthosis is more likely. For example, in new cases of this type, treatment with traction on the lower limbs or lumbar spine can be tried first, and if the deformity is not severe, most of the time a very significant recovery can be achieved. However, the correction of such deformities needs to be accompanied by a thorough treatment of the primary disease, otherwise there is a risk of recurrence or aggravation of the deformity. For more severe deformities, surgical correction may be required, such as osteotomies of the pelvis or lower extremities, and internal fixation. If the deformity is particularly severe or has existed for a long time, it may not be corrected effectively or at all.
