Whether progesterone 17.5ng/ml is normal or not is related to the time of the test, whether or not you are using progesterone drugs and other factors, and should be analyzed on a case-by-case basis.
1. Pregnancy: Under normal circumstances, progesterone should remain above 15ng/ml during pregnancy, and the value of progesterone can increase slightly with the increase of gestational weeks. If the progesterone is 17.5ng/ml in early pregnancy, it is normal. If it is lower than this value in mid-pregnancy, it is considered to be on the low side, and oral progesterone capsules should be taken as prescribed by the doctor.
2. Non-pregnancy: In the follicular phase, progesterone levels are low. After ovulation, into the luteal phase, the body progesterone began to secrete, in about 7 days to reach the peak, at this time if the progesterone in 17.5ng/ml is normal, suggesting that the luteal function is normal.
Note: Progesterone fluctuates at different times, so you can’t use one result to judge, you have to do the test several times.
