Patients with chocolate cysts are usually eligible for IVF.
Chocolate cysts are usually the result of a woman’s uterine lining growing within the ovaries, causing endometriosis in the ovaries, and the gradual accumulation of blood that collects within the ovarian chocolate cysts as the menstrual cycle progresses, becoming chocolate-like.
IVF is possible if there is an ovarian chocolate cyst and it is combined with decreased ovarian function or infertility, such as blocked fallopian tubes. Chocolate cysts themselves are not a contraindication to IVF.
However, it should be noted that chocolate cyst is a kind of pathological cyst, so no matter whether to do IVF or not, it is necessary to carry out regular follow-up, and if necessary, follow the doctor’s advice to actively treat it.
