Side effects of capecitabine include metabolic and nutritional abnormalities, neurological abnormalities, eye discomfort, digestive abnormalities, skin abnormalities, and generalized discomfort. 1. Metabolic and nutritional abnormalities: such as anorexia, low appetite, dehydration. 2. Nervous system abnormalities: such as taste disorder, dizziness, headache, sensory abnormalities, etc. 3. Eye discomfort: e.g. increased tearing, conjunctivitis, etc. 4. Digestive system abnormalities: such as diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, stomatitis, dyspepsia, constipation, epigastric pain, hyperbilirubinemia and so on. 5. Skin abnormalities: such as dermatitis, hand-foot syndrome, alopecia, rash, erythema, and dry skin. 6. Systemic discomfort: such as fatigue, drowsiness, fever, malaise and so on. Capecitabine is a kind of anti-tumor drug, clinically can be single agent chemotherapy or with platinum combination chemotherapy, but not all patients will have the above adverse reactions, most patients can tolerate this drug, if there are intolerable side effects can be timely symptomatic treatment or stop the drug.
