Tegaserod Maleate Tablets have the effect of correcting abnormal gastrointestinal dynamics, enhancing basal motility of the gastrointestinal tract, and reducing visceral sensitivity during rectal and colonic distension. Tegaserod maleate tablets relieve constipated irritable bowel syndrome in women. Tegaserod maleate tablets agonize gastrointestinal 5-HT receptors to stimulate intestinal secretion and gastrointestinal peristaltic reflexes, and also inhibit visceral sensitization during rectal and colonic distension. Tegaserod Maleate Tablets are contraindicated in persons who are hypersensitive to any of the excipients or active ingredients of this drug, in persons with frequent diarrhea, in persons with moderate or severe hepatic impairment, and in persons with severe renal impairment. Adverse reactions such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, bloating, headache, nausea and vomiting, and angina may occur when taking this drug.
