Leukorrhea is normally milky white and has no odor or uncomfortable feeling. If the leukorrhea is thick, yellowish and has a fishy odor, you have vaginitis. The most common type of vaginitis is bacterial vaginitis or trichomoniasis, which can cause yellowing of the leucorrhea and a fishy smell. If it is caused by trichomoniasis, it can be treated with metronidazole; if it is caused by bacterial vaginitis, it can be treated with clindamycin or metronidazole or oxifloxacin. However, most of the bacterial vaginitis is caused by too frequent sexual intercourse or lack of attention to sexual hygiene, so it is important to change this bad habit. Trichomoniasis is mostly transmitted by sexual intercourse, so both men and women must be treated at the same time.
