What are the clinical manifestations of intestinal obstruction

Intestinal obstruction may present with nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, abdominal distension, cessation of anal voiding and defecation, fever, chills, and blurred consciousness.
1. Nausea and vomiting: Nausea and vomiting can occur due to intestinal dysfunction. The vomit is unusually undigested stomach contents such as meal residue and vegetable residue.
2. Abdominal pain, abdominal distension: manifested as severe pain around the navel or lower abdomen. Abdominal distension is often persistent.
3. Cessation of anal defecation: the patient’s bowel habit disappears, feeling bloated but unable to defecate or have a small amount of defecation.
4. Fever and chills: In the late stage of the disease, due to bacterial ectasia in the intestinal tract or necrosis or perforation of the intestinal tract, fever and chills may appear.
5. Blurred consciousness: Systemic infection can lead to blurred consciousness.
