Why does the skin ulcerate after radiation therapy?

Skin ulcers produced by radiotherapy are mainly brought about by the side effects of radiotherapy. Radiotherapy is a double-edged sword, it can achieve the purpose of treating tumors, but at the same time, it has more or less damage to the normal tissues of human body. For example, when radiation enters the body and reacts with the skin, it will stimulate the skin cells and cause skin redness, swelling, heat and skin rupture. Statistics show that 1-2 weeks after receiving radiotherapy, local skin reactions such as redness, swelling and heat can occur. Of course, these are the early side effects of radiotherapy, which can dissipate on their own once 1-2 weeks after the radiotherapy is over. At the same time, we remind the patients that: 1. they must protect the dry and clean skin, try to wear loose and soft clothes to reduce the damage to the skin, and protect the body surface markers and do not wash them off with soap. 2. they should avoid skin irritation and do not apply some irritating drugs. 3. for clothes, try to be open and loose when receiving radiotherapy to fully expose the irradiated area, and do not wear tight or too tight to the irradiated area. Do not wear clothes that are tight or have adverse effects on the skin.
