Middle and late stage of descending colon cancer generally cannot be cured, but with standardized treatment, the survival time of patients can be prolonged to the greatest extent. Intermediate and advanced stages of descending colon cancer indicate that the tumor may have developed lymph node metastasis, and moreover, metastasis to distant organs will occur in advanced stages. Treatment methods include surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy and so on. For middle and advanced descending colon cancer patients without local recurrence or distant metastasis, the prognosis is generally better after receiving standardized scientific treatment. Patients with recurrence or distant metastasis can still maximize the survival time after receiving treatment. Although the probability of cure for middle and advanced stage of descending colon cancer is small, patients as well as their family members should have firm confidence to cooperate with doctors for treatment, so as to effectively prolong the survival time and improve the quality of survival.
