Common medications used in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation include non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and analgesic drugs, glucocorticoids, muscle relaxants, and dehydrating agents. 1. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs: Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory analgesics include ibuprofen, diclofenac, celecoxib, etc., which are mainly used to relieve pain. Common adverse reactions include epigastric discomfort, nausea, headache, tinnitus and so on. 2. Glucocorticosteroids: short-term use of glucocorticosteroids can effectively relieve the inflammatory response pain caused by lumbar disc herniation. Common drugs include hydrocortisone and prednisone. Pregnant women should use glucocorticoids with caution. 3. Muscle relaxation drugs: lumbar disc herniation with muscle spasm, can use muscle relaxation drugs for treatment, common drugs such as chlorzoxazone. Its adverse reactions include nausea, dizziness, drowsiness and other symptoms. The symptoms caused by adverse reactions are generally mild, and can be relieved or disappear on their own after stopping the drug. 4. Dehydration agents: if the patient with lumbar disc herniation has nerve root edema, dehydration agents can be used for treatment, and common dehydration agents include mannitol. Mannitol is prohibited in patients with severe water loss or acute pulmonary edema. If diagnosed with lumbar intervertebral disc herniation, it should be treated under the guidance of the doctor, and should not be used without authorization, so as not to delay the condition. Pay attention to rest on weekdays, quit smoking and drinking, and do not engage in strenuous exercise.
