What does the spleen do?



The Spleen is the master of transportation (the Spleen has the function of digesting food, absorbing food essence and water and transferring it to the whole body), the master of blood circulation, the master of muscles, the master of limbs, and so on.

The Spleen’s main function of transportation includes the transportation of grain and food and the transportation of water and drink. Transporting and transforming grain and food refers to the physiological function of the spleen in transforming food into subtle substances, absorbing them and transferring them to the whole body. Transportation of water and drink refers to the physiological function of the spleen to transform water and drink into fluid, absorb it, and transfer it to the internal organs, limbs and bones of the whole body.

Spleen blood refers to the role of the spleen qi by regulating the blood running in the veins, not to make it escape from the veins.
