Kidney stones belong to the category of Chinese medicine “gonorrhea (increased frequency of urination, dribbling and pain)”, commonly known as “stone drenching (discharge of gravel during urination, or sudden interruption of urination, pain in the urethra, unbearable pain in the lower back and abdomen)”, clinically the Chinese medicine diagnosis of kidney stones is mainly divided into The following three major types of evidence.
1. Lower Jiao Damp-Heat Certificate: Patients manifest lumbar pain, soreness and discomfort, and in severe cases, intolerable colic, or dysuria, tingling and burning, or sand and gravel, and yellowish and reddish urine. The tongue is red, the moss is yellow and greasy, and the pulse is slippery. The treatment is to remove heat and dampness, and Sanjin Dashi Tang and Shiwei San can be used.
2. Qi stagnation and blood stasis syndrome: the patient’s symptoms tend to attack after depression and anger, with severe lumbar pain, lumbar and abdominal distension and discomfort, or accompanied by purplish-red urine, or with blood clots. The tongue is purple and dark, the moss is thin and white, and the pulse is stringy. To regulate qi, activate blood circulation, eliminate blood stasis and remove stones, Shen Xiang San and Blood Palace and Blood Stasis Soup can be used.
3. Spleen and kidney deficiency: patients with kidney stones for a long time, fatigue (mental exhaustion, physical weakness), less color, hidden pain in the waist and abdomen, lumbar and knee pain and weakness, weak urination, or sand and gravel, deviation of appetite, loose stools. The tongue is pale, with teeth marks on the sides, thin moss, and the pulse is dull and fine. To tonify the liver and kidney as the treatment, can use incomparable yam pill, tonifying the middle and yi qi pill combined with kidney qi pill and so on.
