The lingual papillae are numerous tiny papillary projections located on the back and side of the tongue, composed of epithelium and subepithelial connective tissue. Chronic lingual tonsilitis (chronic lingual tonsilitis) or lingual tonsil hypertrophy, mostly from acute lingual tonsilitis recurrent episodes into chronic.
