Effectiveness of Red Dates

Red jujube can be used in both medicine and food. As a traditional Chinese medicine, it is mainly effective in tonifying the middle Jiao (treating Qi deficiency by tonifying the spleen) and nourishing the blood and calming the mind (stabilizing the mind and soothing the emotions by nourishing the blood). When used as a traditional Chinese medicine, jujube is also known as big jujube, and is derived from the dried mature fruit of the jujube plant of the Rhamnaceae family, which is sweet in flavor, warm in nature, and belongs to the spleen, stomach and heart meridians. Jujube has the effects of tonifying the middle Jiao (treating Qi deficiency by tonifying the spleen), nourishing the blood and calming the mind (stabilizing the mind and soothing the emotions by nourishing the blood), and can be used in the treatment of conditions such as spleen deficiency with low food intake, weakness and loose stools (scanty and irregular feces), and gynecological agitation (heartburn, depression, and sadness with the desire to cry for no apparent reason). Jujube is a warm tonic, and should be taken with caution for people with dampness and fullness in the stomach (abdomen), food stagnation (indigestion of food stagnating in the stomach), insect stagnation, caries pain and phlegm-heat coughs. Fresh or dried jujubes can be consumed on a daily basis to help nourish the blood and calm the mind (by nourishing the blood, it can stabilize the mind and soothe the emotions), but the use of a single product is limited, and people with any of the above mentioned conditions should also consult a doctor in a timely manner.
