General knowledge of gynecological medication

Gynecological inflammation has become a major disease plaguing modern women, according to the World Health Organization survey of Chinese women: about 150-200 million women of childbearing age in China, of whom about 41% suffer from varying degrees of gynecological inflammation, and the incidence of married women is as high as 70%. Many women are used to buying medication from pharmacies for self-treatment, but if they go into medication misconceptions, they can cause adverse consequences. The direct consequence of using too many of these drugs is that the germs become resistant to them, destroying the constraint between the vaginal flora and causing the fungal growth to flourish, prolonging the treatment cycle and increasing the dose of the drugs, resulting in ineffective treatment of the disease. Myth 2: Washing the lower body with alkaline soap or medication for a long time Vaginitis is the most common gynecological disease, and more than 40% of patients suffer from it because of improper cleaning methods. The vagina is an acidic environment and is self-cleaning. Washing the lower part of the body with alkaline soap or medication for a long time will kill the beneficial vaginal bacteria and reduce the local resistance. Misconception 3: Long-term use of potassium permanganate solution to wash the lower body Potassium permanganate is a strong oxidizer and its sterilizing effect is familiar to many women, but some women often use potassium permanganate solution to wash without disease in order to be “hygienic”, which is often counterproductive. The vestibular glands of normal women secrete a yellowish-white liquid that lubricates the vaginal opening. If you use potassium permanganate liquid often, it will not only stimulate and corrode the skin of vulva and vaginal mucosa, but also absorb the water there, causing dryness of the skin of vagina. In addition, there are a large number of beneficial vaginal bacilli living in the vagina of healthy women. They break down the “glycogen” stored in the vaginal epidermal cells into lactic acid, which kills the germs that invade the vagina. If potassium permanganate solution is used for a long time, it will kill a large number of vaginal bacteria and make the vagina lose its acidic environment. The physiological activities of human body are basically the same, but adult women have different physiological characteristics from men such as menstruation, pregnancy, childbirth and breastfeeding, so the use of medication is different. Usually, menstruation occurs once a month and lasts for 3 to 5 days. During this period, drug abuse should be prevented, especially avoiding drugs that are too cold, too hot and affect the blood clotting machine and hormones to prevent disruption of the menstrual cycle and menstrual irregularities. During pregnancy, you should be careful with the use of drugs, because drug abuse not only affects you, but can also pass through the placenta and enter the fetus, which can affect the development of the fetus and even cause malformations and stillbirths. The use of Chinese medicine during pregnancy should also be noted, prohibit the more toxic or potent drugs to avoid poisoning or stillbirth. Use with caution those medicines that are likely to cause miscarriage or bleeding. When using proprietary Chinese medicines, you should pay attention to the drug box or drug instructions, such as the note that pregnant women are prohibited or pregnant women should not use the drug to avoid damage. During the perinatal period, care should be taken not to use morphine to avoid inhibiting the respiratory center of the fetus, which may cause asphyxia of the newborn after birth and endanger the life of the child. Lactation During this period, not only do not use drugs that reduce the secretion of milk sweat, but also pay attention to the impact of drugs on the child after the mother uses them, as some drugs are excreted through the milk, which can often cause adverse reactions if eaten by the child, and some can also be toxic. Therefore, lactating mothers should take into account whether the medication is harmful to the child. If you are sick during breastfeeding and have to use medication, you should avoid the peak concentration of the medication in the breast milk and preferably breastfeed your child before taking the medication or injection; because the concentration of the medication in the breast milk is lower at this time. If the medication is taken once a day, it is best to take it at bedtime and bottle-feed at night. This is the principle of choosing the time of medication for breastfeeding women. If you are suffering from some serious diseases and need to apply medication to your breastfed child urgently, you should be weaned from breastfeeding before using medication.
