There are two conditions that can cause soreness in the buttocks. First, it is seen in sedentary patients, and if these patients often sit on a relatively hard bench, after a long period of time, it can lead to sterile inflammation because of friction between the buttock muscles and the bench. The pain produced by this inflammation is a kind of soreness, concentrated in the muscles of the buttocks, and there will be soreness when pressed. Patients are advised to do hot compresses and localized massage can be done, and the symptoms will be relieved. Usually a softer cushion on the bench will prevent the disease from recurring again. Secondly, patients with herniated lumbar discs can also suffer from hip pain when they compress the nerves. These patients also have the accompanying symptoms of lumbar pain, which can cause symptoms to flare up after bending over and bearing weight, sitting or standing for a long time.
