Scarless laparoscopic surgery for acute appendicitis

We currently perform scarless laparoscopic surgery for acute appendicitis, with indications for all pathological types of acute appendicitis and contraindications for appendiceal abscesses and obese children. In conventional appendicitis surgery, an oblique incision is made in the right lower abdomen through the McKay’s point, and the wound is about 5 cm long; in ordinary laparoscopic surgery, three incisions of about 0.5 cm are made in the umbilicus, the left lower abdomen and the pubic symphysis; in scarless laparoscopic surgery, there is only one incision in the umbilicus, and the postoperative umbilical wound heals and retracts with no significant change in appearance from the preoperative period.
