Flexible ureteroscopy has been widely used for numerous renal and upper ureteral stones due to its ideal treatment results. The flexible ureteroscope operates through the body’s natural channels, making it more minimally invasive and largely free of visual field blindness. However, the traditional one-piece ureteral flexible scope is expensive and easily damaged during the procedure. In addition, it has the disadvantage of high maintenance costs and long maintenance intervals. Therefore, a new, high-end, combined ureteral flexible scope (PolyScope?) was developed successively by the German company Platinum. The core components of this detachable combined ureteral flexible scope, such as the optics and imaging system, are designed as separate parts for easy disassembly and assembly. The optical system utilizes single fiber technology and has a soft, tough synthetic metal coiled around the surface for protection. In its use, it is placed in the fiber optic channel of the lens barrel for stable performance and clear images.
