  Male
       1. In a sitting position, use a cotton stick with iodine to disinfect and wipe the area to be operated from inside to outside (in a circular motion).
  2. Push the foreskin back with the left hand to reveal the urethral opening and then straighten the penis to see the location of the urethral opening clearly.
  3. Pick up the catheter, but do not touch the end to be inserted, then gently insert it 7.5 to 10 centimeters into the urethral orifice and let the urine flow into the container that collects the urine.

  6. You can catheterize as usual when you have your menstrual period.
  7. If a catheter is mistakenly placed into the vagina, a new catheter should be reinserted into the urethra, or the catheter should be cleaned and soaked in disinfectant for at least 20 minutes before reuse.
  8. Eat more vegetables and fruits containing vitamin C, such as lemon, orange, grapefruit, cranberry juice…etc.
  9. It is best to record the amount of water drunk, the amount of self-extracted urine and the amount of urine exported, such as a record sheet.
