Noise-induced high degree of sensorineural deafness of 56 decibels in the left ear and 66 decibels in the right ear is a more severe condition. In pure tone testing, the normal value for a healthy person is between 0 and 20 decibels. While 21~35 decibels is mild hearing impairment, 36~50 decibels is moderate hearing impairment, 51~65 decibels is moderately severe hearing impairment, 66~80 decibels is severe hearing impairment, and 80~95 decibels or more belongs to extremely severe hearing impairment. Generally speaking, if the hearing impairment in both ears reaches 40 decibels or more, it will cause difficulties in communication in daily life, and hearing aids may be recommended after clinical assessment. Noise is a common cause of high degree of sensorineural deafness, which can cause some disturbance to the patient’s life. Upon detection of the condition, one should seek medical attention as soon as possible and undergo standardized treatment under the guidance of a doctor.
