What to do when a tooth is demineralized

Depending on the severity of tooth demineralization, fluoride treatment, filling treatment or veneer full crown restoration treatment will be carried out.
1. When the tooth is mildly demineralized and only chalky plaque appears on the surface of the tooth but there is no loss of tooth tissue; fluoride treatment can be applied to promote recalcification of the demineralized area, thus restoring the tooth to its normal shape.
2. If the teeth are moderately or severely lost, resulting in hard tissue loss; if the loss is relatively small or superficial, dental filling treatment can be performed to restore the missing part of the teeth using oral resin materials.
3. If the tooth is demineralized resulting in a large area of hard tissue loss, which cannot be restored by the above treatment; dental porcelain veneers or full crowns can be restored to effectively restore the form and function of the tooth.
