Is triglyceride 1.75 normal

Serum triglycerides of 1.75 mmol/L are borderline elevated.
According to the Chinese Expert Consensus on the Management of Elevated Triglycerides in Patients with Atherosclerosis (2019), the normal level of serum triglyceride measurements is <1.7 mmol/L, 1.7-2.3 mmol/L is borderline elevated, 2.3-5.6 mmol/L is elevated, and >5.6 mmol/L is severely elevated. Therefore, a serum triglyceride measurement of 1.75mmol/L is borderline elevated .
Hypertriglyceridemia can be divided into two categories: primary and secondary. Primary hypertriglyceridemia is genetically related and mainly includes familial hypertriglyceridemia, familial mixed dyslipidemia and familial beta-lipoproteinemia.
The main causes of secondary hypertriglyceridemia are metabolic syndrome, lack of exercise, and high-fat, high-calorie diets. Hypertriglyceridemia may also be induced by renal disease, endocrine disease, acute pancreatitis, and pharmacologic factors (e.g., glucocorticoids, estrogens, beta-blockers, diuretics).
When serum triglyceride measurement is found to be higher than the normal range, further diagnosis and treatment should be carried out in time to avoid delaying the condition.
