What are the types of birthmarks

Types of birthmarks include Mongolian spots, strawberry hemangiomas, cavernous hemangiomas, wine stains, café au lait spots, and congenital pigmented nevi.
Birthmark is a manifestation of abnormal proliferation of skin during development, which appears on the surface of the skin with abnormal shape and color. Usually, it can be divided into the following types:
1. Mongolian spot: this birthmark is characterized by a flat, smooth surface, commonly found on the buttocks or waist, and will gradually disappear before school age.
2. Strawberry hemangioma: Strawberry hemangiomas usually form a few weeks after birth and usually do not disappear on their own, but generally have no significant impact on health.
3. Cavernous hemangiomas: they usually appear under the skin on the head or neck and resemble light blue spongy tissue filled with blood, and usually last until the end of puberty.
4. Wine stain: it is peach color at the beginning, and the color of the stain will be aggravated with age, which is easy to induce capillary dilatation and needs timely treatment.
5. Coffee spot: brownish-brown in color, mostly oval in shape, gradually getting bigger and darker with age.
6. Congenital pigmented nevus: irregular in shape and different in size, in serious cases, it can invade the whole back and neck, this kind of nevus has certain health risks and needs timely treatment.
