What does high endogenous creatinine clearance mean

Elevated endogenous creatinine clearance usually represents high glomerular filtration rate.
Endogenous creatinine clearance reflects glomerular filtration rate to some extent. Endogenous creatinine clearance is higher than glomerular filtration rate because urinary creatinine is still partially excreted from the renal tubules, but in patients on hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis undergoing renal replacement therapy, residual renal function testing still requires endogenous creatinine (or urea) clearance.
In addition to endogenous creatinine clearance, glomerular filtration rate can be measured by inulin clearance, isotopic methods, eGFR, and blood creatinine. Clinically, it is necessary to choose the appropriate method according to the need, and the method with high accuracy can be adopted for the high-risk group of renal disease and patients with renal disease in order to avoid missed diagnosis.
Patients with abnormal endogenous creatinine clearance should go to the hospital in time and be treated under the guidance of professional physicians.
