What does attachment mean?

The adnexa are part of the tissues of the female internal genitalia, including the ovaries, the ligaments of the uterus and the fallopian tubes, which are collectively referred to as the adnexa in clinical practice. The adnexa are very important. Firstly, inflammation of the fallopian tubes can lead to localized obstruction of the tubes, which can cause infertility, sterility or incomplete obstruction and may lead to ectopic pregnancy. Secondly, if there is chronic inflammation of the ovaries leading to the destruction of egg cells, it will cause menstrual disorders. Again, if there is inflammation of the uterine ligaments, there will be recurrent lower abdominal pain. Therefore, in case of adnexal lesions, it is important to treat them promptly. In addition, if there are fluid in the fallopian tubes and ovarian cysts, surgery may be required.
