Eosinophils of 0.4% are abnormal and low.
Eosinophils are a type of white blood cell, and their value can be measured by a routine blood test program. Normal values range from 0.005 to 0.05 (0.5% to 5%). Therefore, eosinophils of 0.4% are on the low side.
Low eosinophils alone are not of great clinical value and require further diagnosis and treatment. Eosinophilia can be caused by the following conditions.
1. Physiological changes: When the sympathetic nervous system is excited, such as excessive exercise and emotional over-excitement, eosinophilia can be reduced in the peripheral blood through the regulation of the hypothalamus.
2. Eosinophilia can also be seen in typhoid fever, paratyphoid fever, and after the application of adrenocorticotropic hormone or pro-adrenocorticotropic hormone treatment.
Eosinophilia test results alone cannot accurately determine the cause, but also need to be combined with the characteristics of the medical history, other test results to make an accurate judgment, it is recommended to clarify the cause of the disease under the guidance of a doctor.
