Atrophic gastritis and duodenitis have different locations, different etiologies and different prognoses.
1. Location: atrophic gastritis is the gastric mucosa epithelium suffered damage caused by glandular atrophy. Duodenitis is an acute or chronic inflammation of the duodenal mucosa caused by various reasons.
2. Etiology: Most atrophic gastritis is associated with Helicobacter pylori infection and autoimmune gastritis. Duodenitis is divided into primary duodenitis and secondary duodenitis. Primary duodenitis may be related to the consumption of irritating foods, alcohol, drugs, Helicobacter pylori infection and so on, while secondary duodenitis is commonly caused by intestinal tuberculosis and parasitic infections and so on.
3. Prognosis: Atrophic gastritis is more serious than duodenitis, and this disease has a certain chance of becoming cancerous. Duodenitis is generally not particularly serious, through active treatment and adjustment of diet and lifestyle habits, can maintain a healthy state for a long time.
Atrophic gastritis and duodenitis are two different diseases that should be treated differently and correctly to avoid affecting your health.
