Stroke is the name of a disease in Chinese medicine and is clinically known as stroke in Western medicine. It is a group of cerebrovascular diseases with a sudden onset and rapid onset of limited or diffuse brain deficits as common clinical features. Strokes can be divided into ischemic strokes and hemorrhagic strokes, and their treatment is somewhat different. Ischemic stroke, also known as cerebral infarction, is a clinical syndrome in which the blood supply to the brain is impaired due to various causes, resulting in localized ischemia and hypoxic necrosis of brain tissue and corresponding neurological deficits. Its treatment mainly includes treatment in the acute phase of onset and treatment in the recovery phase. The acute phase is usually within 2 weeks of onset, and the general treatment is mainly symptomatic, including control of blood pressure, blood sugar, prevention of infection, and maintenance of water-electrolyte balance. Special treatment includes hyperacute thrombolytic therapy, anti-platelet aggregation therapy with aspirin or clopidogrel, and cerebral protection therapy with edaravone and olanzapine. In the recovery period, the main treatment is lifestyle modification and cerebrovascular disease control and prevention with aspirin and statin according to the condition. Treatment for hemorrhagic stroke includes cerebral hemorrhage and subarachnoid hemorrhage. In addition to the general treatment mentioned above, treatment includes medical treatment such as dehydration, cranial hypotension treatment, hemostasis treatment, and surgical treatment such as hematoma removal and aneurysm clamping. In addition, patients with post-stroke sequelae should be treated with rehabilitation. In summary, the treatment plan for stroke (stroke) depends on the type of onset of the patient, and patients should be seen promptly for precise treatment.
