Can a fever from a bacterial infection kill you?

Fever caused by a bacterial infection, relatively mild, will not lead to a person’s life threatening condition, but if left unattended, allowing the bacterial infection to continue to develop and one’s immune system is not able to fight it well, it can lead to death. If the infection is an ordinary bacterial infection, the timely application of antibiotic treatment does not lead to the development of serious conditions. However, bacterial infections do come in mild and severe forms, and the severe ones may produce bacteremia and sepsis, when the patient’s systemic symptoms will be very pronounced and may lead to dehydration and other conditions due to particularly severe symptoms of infection toxicity, and these complications are also likely to endanger the patient’s life. Some bacterial infections may enter the central nervous system through the blood-brain barrier, leading to encephalitis or meningitis, which is also more dangerous and leads to life-threatening conditions, and timely application of antibiotic treatment is more important. As in the case of liver abscess, mostly caused by bacterial infection, if treatment is not carried out in a timely manner in the clinic, the symptoms of infection poisoning are more serious and may also crisis the life of the patient.
