How long does it take from the appearance of ascites to death in stomach cancer?

From ascites to death, a patient with gastric cancer may have six months, or about a year if treated well. If ascites is found, it means that the amount of ascites is already on the large side, which usually occurs in advanced gastric cancer, while early or middle stage gastric cancer will not have ascites due to good nutrition after surgery. Ascites may be caused by malnutrition and low protein, or it may be caused by tumor recurrence and metastasis, such as tumor implantation and dissemination in the abdominal cavity, and it may be accompanied by incomplete intestinal obstruction, with frequent paroxysmal pain in the abdomen and reduced anal discharge and defecation. It is necessary to come to the hospital for symptomatic treatment such as rehydration and nutritional support. If the conditions are good, chemotherapy can also be used, which can effectively prolong the survival period, but the overall survival period is relatively short.
