How long does it usually take to recover from a minimally invasive thoracoscopy?

How long it takes to recover from minimally invasive thoracoscopic surgery depends on the cause of the disease and the patient’s physical condition, and cannot be generalized. Minimally invasive thoracoscopic surgery is a surgical procedure developed in recent years, which has the characteristics of small trauma and fast recovery. However, the recovery time for patients after surgery varies for different diseases. If the surgery is only for lung nodules, patients can generally recover 1 month after surgery. If it is a minimally invasive surgery for lung cancer or other tumors, it may take about 3-6 months to recover after surgery. However, it also needs to be judged in the context of the patient’s own condition. If the patient is in better health and has fewer postoperative complications, the recovery time will be shortened accordingly. However, if the patient’s underlying conditions are poor and combined with multiple complications, the prognosis is relatively poor and the recovery time will be prolonged. Drainage tubes are routinely left in place after thoracoscopy, and care should be taken to protect this drainage tube so that it does not break or slip out. In addition, it is recommended to take more deep breaths after surgery to promote the reopening of the lungs.
