What causes intraoperative and postoperative bleeding in brain pacemakers?

The chance of intracranial hemorrhage in brain pacemaker surgery is relatively low, and is reported to be around 2% in the national and international literature, and is categorized into deep brain hemorrhage, and brain surface hemorrhage according to the site. According to the time, it is divided into intraoperative hemorrhage and postoperative hemorrhage. According to the amount of bleeding, it is divided into a small amount of bleeding and a large amount of bleeding. A small amount of superficial hemorrhage usually does not have much effect on the patient, or even no symptoms, while deep hemorrhage can lead to hemiplegia after surgery, which is the most serious complication of pacemaker. The causes of bleeding are as follows: 1. Patient factors, such as oral anticoagulant drugs, aspirin, etc. Some patients take traditional Chinese medicines to activate blood circulation and eliminate blood stasis, which did not attract enough attention from the doctors and patients before the operation, and the blood coagulation series showed that it was normal, but these traditional Chinese medicines may have an effect on the coagulation factors, which led to an increase in the chances of intraoperative bleeding; and then there are patients who have hypertension, and the patients are nervous during the operation or the stimulation of pain, which further increases blood pressure and vascular pressure, which increases blood pressure; and then there are patients who have hypertension, which is stimulated by pain. The patient has hypertension, intraoperative patient tension, or pain stimulation, so that the blood pressure rises further, vascular pressure increases, increasing the risk of bleeding; furthermore, the elderly patients are prone to atherosclerosis, and a small number of patients with vascular amyloidosis, easy to bleed.2. Medical factors, including intraoperative hemostasis is not complete, the penetration of the path of the deep, especially thalamus of the blood vessels is small, imaging can not be visualized in the small blood vessels, the penetration of the needle may be damaged by these blood vessels, resulting in bleeding. Microelectrode recording during surgery can also increase the risk of bleeding. In our hospital, intraoperative MRI is performed during all pacemaker implantation surgeries, so that bleeding can be detected at an early stage and disposed of accordingly to minimize the loss of patients due to bleeding. In conclusion, there is a risk of bleeding in pacemaker surgery, but the risk of bleeding is very low, and we hope that everyone will have an objective understanding of pacemaker surgery. We also hope that patients who are planning to have the surgery will not be too nervous.
