The article is summarized as follows: This is a cross-sectional study done in Karachi (Karachi, Pakistan) from 2010 to 2011. A questionnaire-based study of 6000 families with cerebral palsy was conducted to investigate the risk factors for the development of cerebral palsy using SPSS 2O statistical method. Results: The mean age of the children in the surveyed families was 8.7 years (±6.4 years). 80% were boys and 20% were girls. (Here I have a little doubt, are there so many boys in BART? Or is it because of religion that girls are not easily noticed?) . The most important identifiable causes of cerebral palsy were 1) home births (there are very few home births in China now), 2) consanguineous marriages, 3) lack of prenatal care and examination, and 4) infections. Among them, 75% were spastic cerebral palsy, 30% were quadriplegia, 35% were bilateral lower limb palsy, 10% were hemiplegia, 15% were mixed type, and 10% were superimposed dystonia type.
