Patients with ventilatory dysfunction or even respiratory failure are ventilated with a ventilator to adjust normal respiratory function. In the process of using ventilator, the clinical manifestation of hyperventilation may cause respiratory alkalosis, which is manifested as tidal breathing, shallow and slow breathing, accompanied by chest tightness, chest pain, dizziness, headache, and abnormal numbness of the skin around the hands, feet and mouth, like pins and needles, irritability and panic, and the limbs may twitch, and in severe cases, convulsions may also occur. The symptoms of convulsions may occur in severe cases.
