The macula of the fundus is usually a normal tissue structure and does not need treatment. Only the macular lesion, or macular degeneration, needs to be treated. Generally, according to the type of macular lesion, the treatment means taken are not consistent. If it is macular edema or macular neovascularization as the main manifestation of macular diseases, the main focus is on vitreous cavity injection of anti-VEGF drugs, this drug has a very good effect on reducing macular edema and inhibiting neovascularization. In case of macular proliferative membrane or obvious hemorrhage, vitreous hemorrhage, vitrectomy is the main surgical treatment, which can solve this kind of problem by removing the proliferative membrane and aspirating the hemorrhage. In the case of macular degeneration, or even diabetic retinopathy caused by macular degeneration, a fundus retinal peripheral laser may also be required to help treat macular edema or macular degeneration.
