The first approach to femoral head treatment is to opt for conservative treatment with protective weight bearing. It is still controversial whether this method can reduce femoral head collapse. The use of double crutches is effective in reducing pain, but wheelchair use is not advocated. Pharmacological treatment is indicated for early stage, stage 0, stage 1, and stage 2, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory pain relievers can be used. For the hypercoagulable and low fibrinolytic state can be applied low molecular heparin and corresponding herbal treatment. Sodium Allan Phosphate and others can prevent femoral head collapse, and vasodilators also have certain efficacy. Physical therapy includes extracorporeal shock wave, high-frequency electric field, hyperbaric oxygen, magnetic therapy, etc., which are beneficial for relieving pain and promoting bone repair. Conservative treatment is not effective for femoral head collapse, and artificial joint replacement is recommended.
