Varicella vaccination schedule

Chickenpox vaccine is recommended for children 12 to 18 months of age for the 1st time, and then again for the 2nd time at 3 to 4 years of age.
Chickenpox is an acute infectious disease caused by varicella-zoster virus, characterized by generalized papules, blisters, and scabs, with a high incidence in winter and spring, mostly in children, and prone to outbreaks and epidemics, and lasting immunity can be obtained after the disease. Chickenpox is highly contagious, before the implementation of vaccination, almost all people have been infected until middle age.
At present, there is no specific treatment drug for chickenpox, chickenpox vaccination is the most economical and effective means of prevention and control of chickenpox, can effectively reduce the incidence of chickenpox, and can greatly reduce the case fatality rate. Some studies have found that 1 dose of vaccination can not be fully effective in blocking the transmission of chickenpox, so it is recommended that healthy children aged 1 to 12 years old receive 2 doses of varicella vaccine in accordance with the program. The interval between the two doses of vaccination should not be less than 3 months.
