Cat bite without injection is okay

Cat bites without shots may be okay, or they may have serious consequences. To be on the safe side, vaccination is recommended if you are bitten by a cat. Cats can carry the rabies virus and are a way of spreading rabies, unless the skin is intact after a cat bite and there is no wound, vaccination is not required. If the skin is broken and bleeding and neither the cat nor the person has been vaccinated against rabies, failure to vaccinate in this case may result in serious consequences. If the cat has been vaccinated against rabies and the person has been vaccinated against rabies within three months, the person can temporarily skip the vaccination and consider whether or not to get a follow-up rabies vaccination by observing the cat’s health. When a person does not know if the cat carries rabies virus and is not sure if he or she has a wound, it is best to seek medical attention and vaccination promptly after being bitten, and to pay attention to cleaning the area where the cat has bitten.
