The formula of Wen Bile Tang includes Semixia, Bamboo Roots, Chen Pi, Citrus Aurantium, Poria and Glycyrrhiza. It has the effects of regulating qi and resolving phlegm (regulating the body’s qi to resolve phlegm), harmonizing the stomach and inducing bile (regulating stomach qi and promoting bile secretion). Warm Bile Tang is a classic formula for treating internal disturbance of phlegm-heat and disharmony between the gallbladder and the stomach. It is mainly used for treating symptoms such as palpitation (accelerated heartbeat, often accompanied by panic), restlessness of the heart and mind, insomnia, vomiting, bitter taste in the mouth, greasy tongue and slippery pulse, etc. This formula can help regulate qi and dissolve phlegm and remove the heat of the liver, gallbladder, stomach and intestines. In the formula of Wen Gallbladder Tang, the Chinese medicinal herb Semixia has the function of expelling phlegm, harmonizing the stomach and subduing turbidity; the Chinese medicinal herb Bamboo Roots has the function of clearing gallbladder heat and resolving phlegm, and Citrus Aurantium has the function of moving Qi and resolving phlegm (to promote the operation of Qi to dissolve phlegm) and dispersing knots, both of which can enhance the effect of the Chinese medicinal herb in clearing gallbladder heat and moving Qi to resolve phlegm. Chenpi moves qi and dries dampness to resolve phlegm; Poria strengthens the spleen and dispels dampness (by tonifying the spleen to expel dampness) to resolve phlegm; ginger and jujube strengthens the spleen and dispels water-dampness; these four herbs are adjuvant herbs; and roasted licorice can harmonize all herbs (harmonize the properties of different Chinese medicines), and is the enabler. Warm bile soup is recommended to be applied under the guidance of a doctor, do not use your own medicine without authorization, so as to avoid the wrong medicine and damage to the body.
