Develop good breastfeeding habits

The first few days of your baby’s life are full of questions about how to nurse, but the summary is probably only three: How long to eat at a time? Which side first? How many times a day? How long should I eat? Your baby can eat for as long as he or she wants. In the first few days, your baby may eat for an hour or more at a time; if you are confused at this time, you should receive breastfeeding counseling to help you continue breastfeeding smoothly. Which side to eat? There’s no need to get hung up on this. You can switch sides or not, as long as you’re comfortable. As long as you make sure your baby gets both sides of the breast throughout the day, there is no need to worry about equal time for both sides. How many times? As long as your baby is motivated and enthusiastic about breastfeeding, you can feed him/her as many times as you want. If your baby is too lethargic, you can wake him up every 3 hours. Starting 6 hours after delivery, aim to feed at least 8 times in 24 hours.
