What are the first-line anti-tuberculosis drugs

The five main first-line anti-TB drugs are rifampin, isoniazid, ethambutol, pyrazinamide, and streptomycin. For patients with primary TB treatment, a quadruple anti-TB drug regimen of rifampin, isoniazid, ethambutol, and pyrazinamide is commonly used, with the first 2 months as an intensive period and the last 4 months as a consolidation period. For patients with relapsed TB, treatment with streptomycin should be added to the above quadruple combination for 9 months, with the first 3 months as an intensive period and the last 6 months as a consolidation period. Most patients can control their disease with first-line anti-TB drugs. For a small number of patients, such as those with drug-resistant TB or multidrug-resistant TB, some second-line anti-TB drugs are required.
