Gonorrhea (increased frequency of urination, astringent and painful urination) can be treated with Sinkiang San if it is Qi Gonorrhea, but it cannot be treated with Sinkiang San if it is other types of gonorrhea, such as Blood Gonorrhea (the appearance of blood in the urine accompanied by a feeling of pain), Stone Gonorrhea (the discharge of gravel in the urine or the sudden interruption of the urine, pain in the urethra, and unbearable pain in the lower back and abdomen), etc. If the gonorrhea occurs after depression and anger, it needs to be treated by regulating Qi.
If gonorrhea appears after depression and anger, with astringent and stagnant urination, incessant gonorrhea, distension and pain in the abdomen, thin white coating and stringy pulse, then gonorrhea is considered to be qi gonorrhea, which needs to be treated by regulating qi and dredging qi, clearing the flow of gonorrhea and diuresis as the main treatment principle. It can be treated with Shen Xiang San, and the medicine includes orange peel, angelica, white peony, shi Wei, talcum, and dong quai zi.
However, if it is not Qi Gonorrhea, it is not suitable to use Shen Xiang San for treatment. For example, Blood Gonorrhea needs to be treated with Xiao Thistle Drink; Stone Gonorrhea needs to be treated with Shi Wei San; and Anointed Gonorrhea (urine as turbid as rice soup or as slippery as grease, accompanied by frequent urination and urgency, and discomfort from traction in the abdomen) needs to be treated with Cheng’s Dioscorea Dioscorea.
