What’s wrong with bleeding a day or two after your period ends?

Bleeding one or two days after the end of menstruation may be the return of menstruation, or it may be caused by endometrial polyps, uterine fibroids, as well as other causes such as cervical cancer.

1. Return of menstruation: One or two days after the end of menstruation, the function of the endometrium has not completely returned to normal, and vaginal bleeding may occur after being stimulated by the outside world. This is normal and does not require treatment.

2. Endometrial polyps: the cause of endometrial polyps is still unclear, and it is considered to be related to factors such as high estrogen levels and foreign bodies in the uterine cavity. Patients may have bleeding between menstrual periods, abnormal menstruation, discharge of foul-smelling bloody secretions, so patients may have bleeding again a day or two after the end of menstruation.

3. Uterine fibroids: the cause of uterine fibroids is not yet clear, generally related to heredity, abnormal levels of sex hormones in the body and other factors. Patients may have increased menstrual flow, long duration of menstruation, irregular vaginal bleeding during non-menstrual period, so patients may have bleeding again one or two days after the end of menstruation.

4. Others: Bleeding one or two days after menstruation is also considered to be caused by cervical cancer, endometrial cancer, vulvar cancer, chronic endometritis and other diseases.

It is recommended that women who have bleeding one or two days after menstruation need to consult a doctor in time to avoid delaying their condition.
