Clinical features and treatment of gliomas

Symptoms and signs of increased intracranial pressure: headache, vomiting, optic papillae edema, known as the “three main signs” of increased intracranial pressure, of which optic disk edema is an important objective sign of increased intracranial pressure. Focal symptoms and signs: Irritant symptoms, e.g., seizures, pain, muscle twitching. Loss of function due to compression and destruction of normal neural tissue, e.g., hemiparesis, aphasia, sensory deficits, cognitive deficits. Comprehensive treatment aimed at prolonging the survival and improving the quality of life of patients is used to reduce intracranial pressure and improve functional status. Surgery is the most direct and effective way to treat intracranial tumors. If necessary, radiotherapy and chemotherapy, immunotherapy and traditional Chinese medicine are also feasible. General treatment for reducing intracranial pressure: closely observe the changes of conscious state and vital signs; reasonable body position; restrict water and sodium intake; keep the airway open; keep the bowels open. Dehydration treatment: osmotic and diuretic dehydration drugs, cerebrospinal fluid drainage.
