Symptoms of laryngitis

  The two diseases, pharyngitis and laryngitis, are divided into acute and chronic.  1, pharyngitis: acute pharyngitis is generally more acute, the patient can first appear in the pharynx dry, burning sensation, roughness, followed by obvious pharyngeal pain, especially painful when swallowing, some patients pain can be radiated to the ear, neck, serious head turning difficulties. Some patients may have pain radiating to the ear and neck, and in severe cases, they may have difficulty turning their heads. Some patients may have various degrees of systemic symptoms, such as fever, headache, loss of appetite, and aching limbs. Chronic pharyngitis is mostly caused by repeated episodes of acute pharyngitis or prolonged disease, the symptoms are mild, mostly manifested as a foreign body sensation, itching, dryness or slight pain in the pharynx, may be accompanied by irritating cough, no sputum.  2, laryngitis: acute laryngitis with hoarseness, cough and phlegm, sore throat as the main symptoms, often occurs after the cold, so there can be nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat and other symptoms, can also be accompanied by stomach chills, fever, fatigue and other systemic symptoms. Pediatric acute laryngitis manifests as hoarseness, barking cough, inspiratory laryngeal wheezing and inspiratory dyspnea. Patients with chronic laryngitis also mainly present with hoarseness, in addition to laryngeal discomfort such as dryness and laryngeal pain when speaking a lot; patients have increased secretions in the throat to form mucous sputum and feel labored when speaking.  In summary, laryngitis is caused by infection of mucous membranes in two different areas, mainly manifesting as discomfort in the pharynx and larynx.
