How long does it take to recover from laryngitis

How long it takes to heal from laryngitis depends on the specific condition of the patient and cannot be generalized. Patients with laryngitis can be cured in about 1 week with medication, but if the condition is more severe, the duration of the disease will be extended accordingly. The patient mainly shows diffuse congestion and edema in the mucous membrane of the pharynx or larynx, with more lymphocyte infiltration around the blood vessels and hyperplasia of the mucous membrane and submucous connective tissue. The disease occurs in adults and is prone to recurrence. The main symptoms are pharyngeal discomfort, such as foreign body sensation, burning, dryness or irritation in the throat. Patients are advised to visit an otolaryngologist for anti-inflammatory treatment. If the patient’s condition is mild, the patient can recover in about 1 week; if the condition is more serious, the course of the disease will be extended accordingly, and some patients can recover in about 2 weeks or even longer. In addition, patients are advised to avoid various causative factors, such as tobacco, alcohol and physical and chemical irritants, to avoid colds and to improve the immunity of the body.
