How to treat a right shoulder that rattles when you move it

The right shoulder is a popping shoulder, which can be caused by physiological or pathological reasons. Physiological causes of rattling shoulder can be left untreated, while pathological causes of rattling shoulder can be treated with medication, physical therapy and surgery. 1. Physiological causes: generally there is no pain or other discomfort. Some people may have temporary subluxation of the shoulder joint with popping sound when they move. In this case, you can do some training to strengthen the shoulder muscles. 2. Pathological causes: besides popping sound, there are usually shoulder pain and activity limitation. (1) Bursitis: injury of scapular muscles will lead to fibrosis, calcification and scar formation of bursa, which will produce symptoms of popping and pain when impinging with skeletal muscles. This condition can be treated with localized heat packs, or physical (e.g., ultrasound), medications (e.g., acetaminophen, ibuprofen, celecoxib), and surgery. (2) Rotator cuff injury: If there is a tear in the rotator cuff that injures the tendon, glenoid labrum, or cartilage, the shoulder may pop during movement. This condition can be treated with medication (e.g. acetaminophen, ibuprofen, celecoxib), physiotherapy, plaster immobilization, and surgery. (3) Degenerative disease of the shoulder joint: the friction between the joints increases when the cartilage of the shoulder joint wears out, and rattling occurs when the joint moves. Most patients can be treated with medication (e.g. flurbiprofen gel paste, celecoxib, etoricoxib) and physical therapy (e.g. hydrotherapy, cold therapy, heat therapy, etc.). If the shoulder pops repeatedly, you should seek medical attention to identify the cause and then treat the cause. The above medications are recommended to be used under medical supervision.
